JEDDAH — Abdul Malik Mujahid, president of the Saudi Arabian chapter of Jamiat Ahle Hadith (Assembly of the Followers of the Prophet's Traditions), has said Iran is the greatest threat to peace and stability in the region.
Mujahid, who is also the operations manager of Dar Asslam Publishers, which has published several books on Islam, was speaking with his colleagues at the residence of Abdul Rauf, chief organizer of Jamiat Ahle Hadith in Jeddah, on Sunday.
Mujahid said the enemies of Islam were trying to destabilize Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Turkey. He condemned the recent suicide attacks in Madinah, Jeddah and the Eastern Province.
He said these attacks were against Islam and all Muslims. "All Pakistanis stand by their Saudi brothers in this difficult moment," he said.
He also condemned the brutalities by Indian forces against the people of Kashmir. He paid glowing tributes to the martyrs and challenged India to hold a plebiscite in Kashmir to see which side are the people of Kashmir on.
Mukhtar Osmani, the group's general secretary, and Umar Farooq, secretary for Jeddah, were among those present at the gathering.
Mujahid introduced his new book, titled "Companions of the Prophet and Selected Events", to the media.
