16 dead in Tunisia road accident

An overturned bus lays in the middle of the Khmouda open air market, in the Kasserine district, western Tunisia, Wednesday. At least 16 people were killed and another 51 injured when a lorry crashed into the bus in central Tunisia, the Interior Ministry said. Those killed in the dawn accident included the lorry driver, the ministry said, adding that around 15 cars also caught fire. Initial findings showed the truck driver was unable to brake and his vehicle hit the bus and several cars as he sped out of control before slamming into an electricity pylon. — AFP
