TAIF — A woman killed her husband on Sunday by stabbing him in his neck after a fight.
Makkah Police spokesman Col. Ati Al-Qurashi said the woman confessed to the crime and claimed that it was in defense of her two-month old baby.
The woman is in her 20s while her husband was in his 30s.
“The family had gone out Sunday night for dinner. They returned home and the woman put the baby in his room. She said that in the middle of the night, the baby began to cry and she heard her husband yell at the baby to be quiet,” said Al-Qurashi.
He added the woman said her husband was getting very violent toward the baby.
“The woman said the husband took a pillow and tried to strangle the baby with it. The wife panicked and didn’t know what to do so she went to the kitchen and grabbed a knife. She came back into the baby’s room and stabbed her husband in the neck,” said Al-Qurashi.
He added she ran to her neighbor’s house with her baby right after the murder. “The woman was arrested. Her statement has been recorded and the case has been forwarded to the pertinent authorities,” said Al-Qurashi.
