The implementation of the various facets of Vision 2030 with emphasis on diversifying the Kingdom’s economy away from oil revenues has given Saudi Arabia a new direction. Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman has opened up new vistas for pilgrims with eased conditions. And in a slew of directives, King Salman directed the Minister of Labor and Social Development Mofrej Al-Haqabani to take necessary measures in coordination with the Ministry of Finance to oblige contracting companies to pay the salaries of their employees in accordance with the government’s Wage Protection Program that ensures that workers’ salaries are fully paid on time. Continuing the systematic changes to boost revenues, the Council of Ministers on Monday took a series of decisions to make major changes in the fee structure of entry visas, including Haj and Umrah visas, as well as exit and reentry visas. It brought about major amendments to the fee structure of some regulations. The measures taken are sure to boost non-oil revenues. The Vision’s implementation is seeing a systemized diversification of the Kingdom’s economy. Once the system gets put into place, a strong and confident Saudi Arabia would emerge.
