IHG names Sawaya as Area General Manager for Eastern Province, KSA

FADY Sawaya has been promoted as Area General Manager for KSA East and General Manager for InterContinental Al Khobar effective July 24, 2016. In his new role, he will also oversee the operation of InterContinental Al Jubail, InterContinental Al Ahsa and Crowne Plaza Al Khobar. Fady has more than 20 years of hospitality experience in managing sales, operations and business support. He started his career with IHG in 1996 as assistant Banquet Manager at InterContinental Riyadh, moved to Front Office Manager in 2004 at Phoenicia InterContinental Beirut and was then assigned as Room Division Manager at InterContinental Abu Dhabi in 2007. Fady was appointed Cluster Hotel Manager responsible for the opening of Crowne Plaza Yas Island Abu Dhabi besides overseeing the operation of the Staybridge in Abu Dhabi. In 2012 Fady was promoted to General Manager of Crowne Plaza Beirut and has played a key role in steering the property through difficult times. Fady said “I am excited to start my new phase and look forward to working closely with my new team to take InterContinental Al Khobar to greater heights.”
