Tahir Raza AbidTahir Raza Abid Freedom in the mind Faith in the words Pride in our hearts and memories in our souls Let’s salute the nation on Independence Day. WE, proud Pakistanis, celebrate Independence Day annually on 14th August, as a National Day in Pakistan and abroad. It commemorates the day when Pakistan achieved independence and was avowed a sovereign nation. Pakistan came into existence owing to the Pakistan Movement, stemmed by the selfless efforts and exertions of numerous people who stood strong for a collective cause which engaged for the creation of an independent Muslim state. In the Islamic calendar, the day of independence overlapped with Ramadan 27, the eve of which, being Laylatul-Qadr, is regarded as sanctified by Muslims. The Pakistani Diaspora also celebrates Independence Day in various countries throughout the world, especially in countries, which have large Pakistani population. To mark this historic occasion, I would like to urge and stipulate all the community members of Pakistan to recommence their resolve to bring their country to the forefront of the comity of nations. We are confronted with formidable threats and challenges. To face such catastrophes, which may turn to Pakistan, it is our prime duty to become vigilant and nourish our young ones, in such a way, with high degree of ‘Pakistanized’ and ‘Islamized’ education, coping also with the excellence of other latest universal and scientific knowledge including modern technology with trend-setting aptitudes. We must believe that no nation can survive without giving maximum priorities to education. Realizing this truth, Pakistan Armed Forces got the opportunity to establish an educational unit at Riyadh in 1968 under the Royal Decree of King Faisal, which was later honored to be managed by the Pakistan Embassy at Riyadh and the Ambassador named the Patron-in-Chief of Pakistan International School Nasirya, Riyadh. The small bud of education turned into a wonderful educational hub for Pakistani students, who have become the recognition of Pakistan throughout the world after being well-equipped in their respective fields. It’s PISR’s tradition to admit students from all over the Pakistan in the raw form and convert them into very precious gems. We are committed to shape the future of Pakistani youth by providing unmatched quality educational products and services. This year our students have proved our quotes showing excellent results ever — the highest for the last 15 years in the SSC examinations under Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Islamabad, Pakistan. The principal and more than 400 highly experienced and qualified teaching staff members, consider themselves as the education sector leader, the pioneering commitment to the nation under the dedicated guidance of our Link Officer, Deputy Head of Mission, Muhammad Hasan Wazi, and Ambassador Manzoor ul Haq to seek further the global peers in the field of quality education. We will remain dedicated to exploring new frontiers and effecting lasting changes in this sector. On this joyous and auspicious occasion of 69th Independence Day of Pakistan, I submit my greetings and best wishes to all my countrymen residing here at KSA and abroad. Long Live Pakistan, Long Live PISR.
