ResizeNEW YORK — Stephen Piscotty hit a three-run home run as St Louis scored five runs in the eighth inning in a 6-4 victory over Chicago to split their four-game series Sunday.
The Cubs have lost two straight after their 11-game winning streak was snapped Saturday. They’re also dealing with an injury to starting pitcher John Lackey.

Matz (9-8) was pulled after giving up a one-out single to Alexei Ramirez in eighth. He walked two and struck out eight in earning just his second win in his last 14 starts. Matz was trying to throw the second no-hitter in the 54-year history of the Mets.

Marlins 5, White Sox 4: Adeiny Hechavarria scored from second on a sacrifice bunt as Miami snapped a three-game losing streak, rallying to beat Chicago.
The game ended on a play at the plate as Marlins left fielder Christian Yelich threw out Carlos Sanchez, who tried to score from second on a two-out single by Tyler Saladino.
Blue Jays 9, Astros 2: Troy Tulowitzki, Russell Martin and Edwin Encarnacion hit home runs, Marcus Stroman pitched into the seventh inning and Toronto defeated Houston.
