‘Bringing Humanity Back’ — Introducing Varun Pruthi

So when we come across social media figures and Youtubers like Varun Pruthi, it gives us hope for a better future. Thanks to the Internet, Millennials have taken social initiatives directly to social media without any third party interference. Those with the ability and means to help always find a way and now they are not looking for sponsors or media coverage. They can do it all themselves. Considering we live in a time where we fear innocence won’t last much longer but then people like Pruthi show up to prove there’s a lot more the web has to offer than just profanity that can influence young children. In a quest to spread love and to inspire the youth, Pruthi goes on a mission to help those in need and uses the web to show people how they can too. He roams the streets of India and visits vendors be it on sidewalks, streets or selling things in the middle of nowhere, in scorching-hot temperatures and buys their entire stock to help ease their burden. He recently sat down with a street vendor selling fruits, who claimed she was around 100 years old and because she had sold everything, he paid her what he calls an “advance” of a Rs. 1000 to help her out. He then took to Facebook to share his experience. “It was so amazing and inspiring to hear, I said ‘wow you’re 100 years old’. Unbelievable and you’re still working. She said yes, son I work and make my own living, I said here is an advance of Rs. 1000, Please keep it and I will come tomorrow and buy all the Jamuns (berries) from you. She very Innocently said but son what If I don’t find Jamuns tomorrow? Then, I said ‘no problems you can keep the money, please go home and take rest’. With a big smile she puts her hand on my head and said ‘you’re just like my son, you’re helping me so much’. She got so happy that while giving many blessings she kissed my hands. It was just amazing to see how a small act of kindness can create so much happiness in life. Then I asked how she gets the strength to work at this age and she said ‘son I can carry weight on my head and walk, age doesn’t matter, I am a very strong woman.’ I said ‘wow surely you’re very strong and very inspiring aunty. You’re a legend. Thank you so much for inspiring us to never give up in life and live to the fullest.’” In return for his help, Pruthi receives prayers, blessings and a lot of love from the people he helps and from his social media followers. Recently he has addressed major social issues like bullying, rape, eve teasing and other family related matters through videos. He inspires people to be themselves and work towards a goal. “Giving up is the easiest thing to do in life,” he said. “But fighting against all odds to win is what defines a legend. So be a legend!” During a motivational speech he said many people taunt and ridicule those trying to achieve something. “I call myself an actor. People laugh and say we don’t know you, nor any movies you’ve done,” he explained during a motivational speech. But regardless he goes on and chooses to define himself to work towards a goal he set and only he can achieve. Pruthi inspires the youth and many more across the world with his Youtube videos. “I started from rock bottom and I have the passion for humanity and acting.
