In a joint initiative by Boeing and Saudi Aramco, a focused workshop was organized with the goal to support the aviation sector in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The initiative was supported by the Economic Cities Authority and in partnership with the Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation and Emaar Economic City. Ahmed Jazzar, President of Boeing Saudi Arabia, said: “For more than 70 years, Saudi Arabia has been one of the most important strategic partners of Boeing. This cooperation with one of the largest corporations in the Kingdom such as Aramco will play a primary role in achieving the intended goals of this initiative.” “Boeing is committed to our long-term partnership with national entities, with the aim to develop the aviation sector and provide employment opportunities to qualified local talent to better support the growth of the aviation and defense industries in the kingdom,” he added. The workshop was hosted at King Abdullah Economic City, and is part of the continued commitment of those participating in this initiative to support Saudi Arabia’s vision to localize industry and develop the skills of Saudi youth. The workshop consisted of several lectures and presentations from experts in the aviation sector, aiding those participating in the workshop to better analyze and identify the special needs of the aviation sector. Studying current demand and planning more efficiently for the future. The participants explored several topics that would help in discovering the training needs of the aviation sector and air transportation in the kingdom and exploring direct investment opportunities in human capital. Mitigating risks and challenges, and unifying efforts to support development in this very important sector. A committee was formed at the end of the workshop by members of the workshop to identify the outputs and future goals of this initiative, and to work to achieve them. This initiative will outline the strategic and national goals for the pioneers of the aviation industry in the kingdom, and to provide the training needs for this dynamic sector; paving the way to accelerate growth and development of the aviation sector in the kingdom. — SG
