Fire in hospital

NAJRAN — A worker was injured in a fire in a hospital kitchen on Saturday. Najran Civil Defense spokesman, Capt. Abdulkhaliq Al-Qahtani, said the Civil Defense received reports of a fire in the kitchen of Al-Shurfah Hospital. The fire resulted in the injury of one maintenance worker with first degree burns to his leg and hand. The victim received medical treatment on the spot and was transported to the hospital. A gas leak during maintenance work in the kitchen is believed to have caused the fire. Man shoots mother and sister DAMMAM — A young man murdered his mother and sister on Tuesday. Eastern Province Police assistant spokesman, Capt. Mohammad Al-Diraihim, said the incident took place in Hafr Al-Batin Governorate when the police received reports of a citizen in his 20s who had shot his own mother and sister. The mother was in her 50s and the sister was in her 20s. The police tracked down the murderer and arrested him, seized the murder weapon, and transported the victims to the hospital morgue. Two children die in fire MADINAH — Two children died in a fire in Al-Gharbiyah District in Madinah on Tuesday. Madinah Civil Defense spokesman, Khalid Al-Jehani, said the Civil Defense received reports of a fire in an two-story apartment building in Al-Gharbiyah District. The fire broke out on the balcony of an apartment on the second floor. The Civil Defense extinguished the fire and found the bodies of two children aged four and five years old. Man shoots brother Al-AHSA — A man shot his own brother after a fight broke out between the pair. Eastern Province Police assistant spokesman, Capt. Mohammad Al-Diraihim, said the police received reports from a hospital of a victim who had been shot by his brother. The police investigated the case and arrested the shooter, who was in his 40s. The shooter confessed to the crime and submitted to arrest. The victim was admitted to the hospital and is in a stable condition.
