ResizeRIYADH — King Abdul Aziz Center for National Dialogue has announced a new social dialogue project and named it "Naseej.” The project has seen a 95 percent increase in social cohesion in the Kingdom’s east.
The project, run in cooperation with the Department of Education in the Eastern Province, targeted 57 schools in the pilot phase of design.
The project's aim is to strengthen cohesion and coexistence, and emphasize the importance of maintaining the values important to social fabric.
Schools in the project were in Dammam, Al-Khobar, Al-Ahsa, Qatif and Dhahran, and 35,000 students benefited from the training course and workshop's joint work.
Secretary General of the King Abdul Aziz Center for National Dialogue, Faisal Bin Abdul Rahman Bin Muammar, said Naseej has become very popular among the youth, and was building community awareness about the need to foster a spirit of harmony.
The center’s deputy secretary general, Fahad Al-Sultan, said: "We strive to evoke young fathers' experience in the construction and preservation of the national fabric.”
The center’s Eastern Province Director, Khaled Al-Badawi, said that the program would benefit more than 10,000 young men and women.
A student at the National School of Qatif, Abu Arish, said: “The program alerted me to the wrong actions, which are the result of misconceptions.”
