JUBAIL — Dozens of parents have complained about the lack of security at a girls’ school in Jubail, Alsharq daily reported.
Khalid Jamaan, a parent, said Al-Oula Primary School for Girls in Jubail has no security guard, something they say puts their daughters’ lives at risk.
“We are afraid for our daughters. It is very important for a girls' school to have a security guard to chaperon them safely in the midst of traffic. Since it is a primary school, most of the students are little girls,” said Jamaan.
He said in the absence of a security guard, the girls may leave the school without anyone knowing.
Mohammad Al-Ghamdi, another parent, said students at the school are just children who do not know how to cross the street on their own.
“They may get run over or get into a road accident without the help of a security guard to regulate the traffic in front of the school,” said Al-Ghamdi.
Abdullah Al-Rihaili said the school is located in an area full of single expatriates, something he claimed puts their children at risk.
“We are afraid something bad will happen to our daughters. The directorate of education must act fast.
We are desperately asking the authorities to appoint a security guard at the school,” said Al-Rihaili.
Public Relations Director at the Eastern Province Education Directorate Saeed Al-Bahis said the directorate has received many complaints about the lack of a security guard at the school.
