CIT Group to sponsor JCA SPL T20

By Aijaz Ahmed Khan JEDDAH — CIT Group will sponsor the Saudi Premier League (SPL) 2016 T20 cricket tournament being organized by Jeddah Cricket Association (JCA). This was announced by JCA CEO Mohammed Iqbal and CIT Group President and CEO Naser Gulaid after signing the sponsorship agreement here recently. At the ceremony held at CIT headquarters, Gulaid thanked JCA for giving CIT Group the opportunity to be the main sponsor of the event and assured the JCA management of its continued support for the promotion of sports in general and cricket in particular as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility. Iqbal welcomed CIT Group to the list of JCA’s elite sponsors and assured its management of a friendly, competitive and disciplined atmosphere during the course of the league. The total number of participating teams are 13 who will play round-robin league amongst each other with the top 4 teams playing the play-off comprising qualifier 1, eliminator, qualifier 2 and final to decide the winner and the runner-up. The sponsorship budget for this year is bigger than in 2015, so are the cash awards and weekly performance awards. JCA expects more co-sponsors in this year’s SPL compared to last year and the names will be announced shortly. The unveiling of the CIT SPL T20 2016 will be held once all the details have been chalked out. The draw for the league will also be made then.
