RIYADH — Arabian Centres, the leading developer, owner and operator of international standard shopping malls in Saudi Arabia, Sunday launched with Zahra Association a new awareness campaign about the importance of breast cancer screenings, coinciding with the month-long International Breast Cancer Awareness month observed every year in October. The initiative involves events in targeted shopping centers in its portfolio across the Kingdom with volunteers canvassing and offering free checkups and mammograms for women who are from 25 to 35 years old. The temporary screening locations have been set-up as part of the campaign, and they are located in all Arabian Centres malls. This year, the campaign aims to reach the maximum of the women public in the Kingdom. Commenting on the initiative, an Arabian Centres spokesperson said: “The campaign provides critical information that clarifies the public health discussion about breast cancer, and a reminder that early detection is the best way to beat the tumor. Over the past few years, we partnership with Zahra made it a mission to help ensure that women in the kingdom catch and treat this tumor early. “With the campaign featuring free screening programs combined with educative led posters and flyers that simplify complex breast cancer information, we hope to reach out to all women and make sure they are getting screened.” “Our partnership has seen tremendous success in the past few years, educating women about the risks associated with breast cancer and the necessary steps to be taken to eliminate the tumor in its early stages. Over the last 10 years, the call to action campaign has successfully reached out to approximately over 200,000 women in the Kingdom.” This year, the retail real estate leader is taking advantage of its social media reach to increase awareness about the campaign. It aims to include posters and powerful messages in its social media feed, including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, to create further impact for the campaign. — SG
