Cubs celebrate World Series victory

A general view as the Chicago Cubs make their way along Michigan Avenue during the World Series victory parade Friday. Showered with confetti and cheered by screaming fans, the Cubs wound their way through downtown Chicago on open-topped buses to celebrate the team’s first World Series victory in 108 years. Hundreds of thousands of long-suffering fans skipped work and school to line the streets while the Chicago River that flows through the city was dyed Cubs blue in honor of the newly-crowned Major League Baseball champions. — Reuters
