ANKARA - Rumors that Turkish actor Murat Yildirim is in love with Moroccan actress and former beauty pageant winner Iman El Bani have been finally put to rest. The couple is now engaged-to-be-married thanks to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Murat asked for Iman’s hand in marriage in the grandest way ever. The influential actor got Erdogan to personally ask Iman’s father for his blessing, which he did, reports Albawaba.com
The couple bumped into Erdogan at Ankara’s Esenboğa International Airport, that’s when Murat seized the moment and asked the President to FaceTime Iman’s father and “pop the question.”
“These two youngsters would like to get married, so I’m asking for your daughter Iman’s hand in marriage for our son Murat,” Erdogan told the actress’s father.
Murat and Iman met in London, where the actress lives. They’re set to wed at the end of December, before starting their new life as newlyweds in Los Angeles, according to Laha magazine. - Agencies
