Measuring one’s heart rate and blood pressure can be done anywhere and at any time with the AccuRate created by Taiwanese startup Lumio Labs. Wearable technology has not stopped at healthcare but uncovered potential ways to help adults track their health regularly.
“Even though adults with hypertension are our main customers, we suggest anyone from the age of 40 and above to check their health everyday to maintain their health and prevent any health problems,” says Stanley Wang, cofounder of Lumio Labs.
Over 1 billion people worldwide suffer from blood pressure.
AccuRate is a hard phone case with sensors that functions as a blood pressure monitor. From first sight, it seems like a regular phone case and has no sign of looking like a typical monitor.
“Never been in the market before has a phone case operated as a blood pressure monitor,” says Wang. The product was launched two and a half years ago. “Currently, we’re looking for to distributers.”
Asked about competitors in the market, Wang says, “We don’t have much competitors. We have strong experience in making hardware, software, and application.”
The AccuRate analyzes data over the long-term, making it possible to catch early signs of hypertension.
Wang says this product seeks to change people’s awareness in health. “If we make it simple, you can bring it everyday. Nobody will notice you’re checking your health.”
