RIYADH –Minister of Labor and Social Development Mofrej Al-Haqbani and Minister of Health Dr. Tawfiq Al-Rabiah on Sunday signed a memorandum of cooperation aimed at creating more job opportunities for Saudi jobseekers in the health sector.
Speaking on the occasion, Al-Haqbani said this deal represents a major component of the National Transformation Program by creating job security through strong participation of the national workforce in both the government and private health sectors.
As part of the agreement, training programs will be provided to Saudis so as to increase their participation and reduce the dependence on foreigners in this key sector.
On his part, Al-Rabiah said the agreement will enhance coordination among the concerned agencies in both the ministries in creating thousands of jobs for Saudis in the health sector.
There is a provision in the agreement to launch an electronic portal for providing professional training to Saudi holders of health diplomas. Training programs will also be conducted for Saudi doctors. A technical working group will be constituted to prepare a detailed working plan to increase the number of Saudis working in the health sector.
A high level council will be created for achieving a high percentage of Saudization in the health sector. Minister of health will be the chairman of the council and officials from the Ministry of Labor and Social Development and other concerned government departments and agencies as well as the private sector will be members of the council. The objectives of the council include approving Saudization program in the health sector with identifying critical jobs and percentage of Saudization in each economic activity related with the health sector.
