JEDDAH — Nissan’s participation in this year’s Rally Jeddah began with dominating the provisional entry lists. This strong presence continued throughout the competition, with results that reflected the brand’s dominance in the motorsports scene.
The two-day race which took place over a short super special stage on the first day, and a 220km desert stage on the second, concluded its final stages Nov. 18.
Rally Jeddah was held under the patronage of Prince Mishaal Bin Majid Bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, Governor of Jeddah and head of Rally Jeddah’s higher organising committee, and was organized by the Jeddah
Municipality, the Abdullah S. Bakhashab Establishment and under the supervision of the Saudi Arabian Motor Federation (SAMF).
“We are very much excited about the astounding results of this year’s rally in Jeddah,” says Abdul Ilah Wazni, general marketing and corporate communications manager, Nissan KSA. “The strong presence of the Nissan Patrol, further proves this model’s performance and endurance in different terrains and conditions”.
Qatari driver Adel Hussein Abdulla, who was able to grab the attention and sponsorship of the Qatar Motor and Motorcycle Federation (QMMF), Nissan Qatar, and Nissan Middle East, continued his successful season following a heroic performance in the FIA T2 Championship this year. In the rally, Adel drove the hero of all terrains, “Nissan Patrol” in the T2 category, and with French navigator Sébastien Delaunay, the Doha driver continued to place Nissan Patrol in the lead by securing the first position in the category.
Drivers in Nissan cars dominated the list of winners at the tournament in various categories — Nissan Patrol taking the first and third spots in the T1-category, and all top three spots in the T2-category.
Additionally, the overall results of the rally were a reflection of the success achieved, with Nissan Patrol cars achieving all three top positions. — SG
