RIYADH — India Fraternity Forum, Riyadh Tamil chapter, organized a seminar titled “Secularism Is India’s Soul and Heart” on Dec. 6 at Shifa Al Jazeera auditorium, Batha.
Executive committee member Mohamed Raffi welcomed the guests. Muthu Ahmed, the chapter's president, delivered the presidential address.
Guest speakers included IFF Riyadh regional president Mohamed Elyas, Indian Social Forum Tamil chapter’s Riyadh President Sardar and Riyadh Tamil Islamic Federation’s coordinator Shahul Hameed.
Abuthahir spoke about “Babri Masjid demolition and the destruction of Indian secularism”.
In his speech, Abuthahi not only gave a historic overview of the masjid and urged the audience to carry it to the next generation.
He said Indian Muslims remained very patient over the past 24 years since the demolition of Babri Masjid even though they had been cheated on the pretext of rule of law. He suggested ways to handle challenges in coming years.
IFF executive committee member Fathurudeen was the coordinator. The seminar concluded with vote of thanks by chapter secretary Ramujudeen
The meeting condoled the death of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalitha. Hundreds of members from the Indian Tamil communities in Riyadh were present.
