SAUDI Arabian Airlines (Saudia) on Wednesday started the first of its four direct weekly flights from Madinah to the city of Muktsar in Indonesia. The flights will be on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

The Saudi national carrier is already serving three other Indonesian cities of Jakarta, Surabaya and Medan.

Saudia›s deputy CEO for commercial affairs Khaled bin Hammad Al-Balawi said the flights to the three cities, other than Jakarta, will be seasonal to transport the Umrah pilgrims. He said the flights to Surabaya have been increased from four to six weekly.

Balawi said Saudia last year transported 452,685 passengers from Indonesia. — SG
