LOS ANGELES - The red-hot Columbus Blue Jackets scored three straight goals, two of them in the third period, to post a rare 3-1 road victory over the Edmonton Oilers Tuesday for their seventh straight victory. The Blue Jackets usually struggle in Edmonton, winning only six of their previous 26 visits, but were too much for the Oilers and are off to the best start in franchise history (18-5-4). Cam Atkinson and Matt Calvert scored 1:36 apart midway through the third period to blow open a 1-1 game. Sam Gagner also scored for Columbus. Tyler Pitlick scored for the Oilers (15-12-5), who are 3-4-4 in their last 11. Blackhawks 2, Rangers 1: Artem Anisimov scored late in the second period and Scott Darling made 33 saves as the Chicago Blackhawks edged the New York Rangers 2-1 at Madison Square Garden. Anisimov, who spent the first four years of his career with the Rangers, snapped a 1-all tie with his 13th goal of the season. Trevor van Riemsdyk scored the other Blackhawks goal. Rangers goaltender Antti Raanta stopped 24 shots in his fourth consecutive start and had a shutout streak snapped at 176 minutes. Capitals 4, Islanders 2: Defenseman Matt Niskanen ended a streak of 43 regular-season games without a goal when he scored early in the third period, before adding a late power-play goal as the Washington Capitals extended their winning streak to five games with a 4-2 victory over the New York Islanders. Brett Connolly and Justin Williams scored second-period goals for the Capitals, who are 5-0-1 in their last six games. Brock Nelson and Nikolay Kulemin scored for the Islanders, who are 5-2-1 in their last eight games. Hurricanes 8, Canucks 6: Jeff Skinner, Ron Hainsey, Victor Rask and Justin Faulk scored in a span of 4:40 early in the third period as the Carolina Hurricanes erased a three-goal Vancouver lead to down the Canucks 8-6 en route their seventh straight home win. Jordan Staal, back in the lineup after missing seven games with a concussion, scored the game-winner with 7:22 left. Carolina (12-11-6) has now won eight of its first 11 home games this season and snapped a seven-game winless streak against the Canucks, which dated to December 2011. Predators 6, Blues 3: Down 3-0 less than two minutes into the second period, the Nashville Predators rallied with six unanswered goals to notch a 6-3 win over the St. Louis Blues. Mike Fisher gave Nashville the lead for good as the Predators (13-11-4) tallied four times in the third period, to earn their first win this season in nine games in which they entered the third period trailing. Coyotes 4, Red Wings 1: Jamie McGinn scored two goals to lead the Arizona Coyotes to a 4-1 road win over the Detroit Red Wings. Defenseman Anthony DeAngelo and Lawson Crouse also scored for Arizona (10-14-5). Andreas Athanasiou found the net for Detroit (13-13-4), which is 2-8-3 in its last 13 at home. Elsewhere it was: Stars 6, Ducks 2; Sharks 3, Maple Leafs 2 (shootout); Sabres 6, Kings 3; Wild 5, Panthers 1. - Reuters
