It probably crosses your mind, but most of us forget to make the effort that requires helping others. The easiest way to do it is through your phone. You are always connected and it is really easy to help people digitally. We have rounded up apps that you can use to donate and help people around the world.
1. Share the Meal- An initiative of the United Nations World Food Programme, you can simply tap to donate as little as $0.50 to provide a meal for a child. Targeting a current issue, the app is focusing its efforts on donating to children at Za’atari refugee camp in North Jordan.
2. The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) launched a popular campaign in support of Syrian refugees. Money can be sent through a bank transfer to the National Commercial Bank (Al-Ahli Bank) using the account number SA2310000020188888000100. For more details call 920008554.
3. Donate a photo- the photo app capitalizes on pictures we take by turning them into cash for good causes. How they do this is, for every photo you share through Donate a Photo, Johnson & Johnson gives $1 to a good cause. The good thing is it allows you to choose which cause to support.
4. Instead- an interesting concept that allows you to choose between your needs versus theirs. So say instead of having dessert, donate cash to a water project in Africa. The app also offers alternatives and suggests ideas that could decrease your consumption, so instead of buying coffee they suggest you brew it and log on to the app to donate that amount you saved.
