ResizeBURAIDAH – The city of Buraidah no longer has a central place for accommodation of citizens and their families who live there especially after the urban sprawl of the city in all directions. The street of Al-Khalidiya is considered the largest gathering for expatriate workers in the Qassim region, which is the most random and messy. It suffers from restaurants that lack hygiene and illegal workers selling anonymous goods in an unsafe and unhealthy manner. The question is: where are those responsible bodies, especially Qassim Municipality?
Residents of the area admit that they do not care about the existence of services, despite the poor region. Shahir Ahmed, an Asian worker in a shop selling sweets, said: "I do not care about the level of services provided to us in Al-Khalidiya Street, we know that the region is bad but that does not matter because we will not always stay here, we come to work and then we leave and will not take services with us."
Zakir Mohammed runs one of complexes with a large number of Asian workers. Housing contains 11 rooms, inhabited by more than 60 people. Zakir says: "We do not have leases, each group lives with each other, shall pay per person SR100 a month. We do not know the owner of housing." Adding that they do not care about the existence of services because they work all day and then come back at night to eat and sleep.
