JEDDAH — Health is one of the most important blessings of Allah and living the adage “prevention is better than cure,” a timely awareness to women was provided by the Pakistan Welfare Society (Trust) Women Wing by holding its 9th annual function and Health Seminar at the Pakistan Consulate General premises here. Sonia Shehryar wife of Pakistan Consul General Shehryar Akbar Khan was the chief guest. A large number of prominent women from Pakistani and local community participated in the function.
The program started with the recitation of verses from Holy Qur’an by Fatima Abdul Sattar. Dr. Rabia Khatun, in-charge of PWS Women Wing, welcomed all guests and highlighted the society’s activities.
She said the society organized free medical camps twice a month at the Pakistani Consulate and provided free sugar test and medication. “Moreover, our society also takes active part in the social, educational and welfare work,” she added.
She said the establishment of Pakistan Kidney Centre (PKC) in Abbottabad is a blessing for the people of this backward area where free dialysis facilities are available for the poor and needy patient.
Dr. Zainab highlighted the complications suffered by women and advised women that in case of any abnormality do not wait at all but get immediate and timely treatment of diseases with the consultation of doctors.
Dr. Mamouna urged women make early diagnosis of diseases such as the blood pressure, blood sugar and cholesterol. She provided very useful information to women to live a successful and healthy life. Dr. Aziza gave a lecture to prevent Osteoporosis by overcoming vitamin-D and calcium deficiency through treatment.
Chief guest, Sonia Shehryar thanked the doctors and all attendees of the seminar. She expressed her profound pleasure to see the welfare activities of PWS Women Wing. She assured them her support and cooperation for their selfless services.
