MAKKAH — The search for the teacher who went missing 21 days ago ended on Monday with no positive outcome. Khalid Al-Sharif said his cousin Misaaed Al-Sharif went missing 21 days when he was on a fishing trip with his friends. “My cousin jumped into the sea to swim but he never returned. His friends informed the authority and the search began. Even though it has been 21 days so far we have not found him. We still have hope that we will. We still want to keep searching for him,” said Al-Sharif. He added he wishes the Border Guards would search in wider areas and would extend the search period. “We would accept the outcome if we did not find him, but we feel that the search period is too short. We may still find him if we keep searching. We have requested the most professional of divers and the latest technology to be used. We also requested terrestrial, aerial and naval scanning,” said Al-Sharif. Makkah Border Guards spokesman Capt. Faris Al-Malki said the Border Guards began their search the moment the victim was reported missing. “Our search party searched for the missing victim on the shore near where he went missing and in the sea in the area he was reported missing. We also provided an aerial scanning of the region. We also coordinated with other authorities to ensure that we do our duty diligently,” said Al-Malki.
