Sports Track: A multi-brand sports store under one roof

SPORTS Track Trading, with its registered trade name Sports Track, established at end of 2012, is a chain of sport stores in the KSA. Opened with ASICS SIS concept in one of the leading malls of the KSA, Sports Track has added a couple of multi-brand sport stores with shop-in-shop concept, selling Adidas, Nike & Reebok. The main mission of the Sports Track, is to become the leading Sports & Fitness retailer of choice in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Eng. Abdul Hakim Sehli, President of the brand, an active sports person himself, saw the opportunity in sports retail and so towards the end of 2012, Sports Track Trading Est., was formed. He said after establishing several other businesses and running them successfully. Sports Track Trading Est. is working with two retail concepts: multi-brand sports stores; and mono-brand. In July of 2013, Sports Track Trading Est. opened its first mono brand store of ASICS SIS, in Red Sea Mall, Jeddah. This also happened to be the first and only ASICS SIS in the KSA. The 2nd store ‘Sports Track was multi-brand store, which opened with top 3 brand names in sports, namely: Nike, Adidas & Reebok. More brands too are likely to be included in the MBS concept. In October 2015, Sports Track opened its 3rd store, a multi-brand concept (MBS) in Rehab District, Jeddah. “The phase 1 plan is now to copy both the concepts in all the major cities of the Kingdom and in phase 2, we would go to smaller towns. Opening mono-brand or stand-alone stores of other new active sports brands exclusively for Sports Track Trading Est. is the priority,” he added. — SG
