JEDDAH — Jeddah Premier League launched its Season 10 Tournament and unveiled the Dream India Cup at a ceremony here recently.
Forty teams have entered the fray in this softball cricket tournament, which will be played on a league-cum-knockout basis at the Suleimania grounds here.
The championship is mainly sponsored by Dream India Group, a real estate development company from Hyderabad, India, and the 10th season’s event is dubbed as Dream India Cup championship.
The co-sponsors are Sunshine School from Hyderabad, India, Mahmood Saeed Beverage Industry, Elite, Paradise Hotel Group, Parvaz Hotel group, Bawarchi Hotel, Khind, Halwani, Fusion 9 and G-21 Optics.
Chief guest Nadeem Nadwi, CEO of Saudi Cricket Centre (SCC), Sadequl Islam, manager, cricket affairs of SCC, Shameem Ahmed from Direct Sport, Rizwan (Sunshine School, Hyderabad), Syed Khalid Ali (Bawarchi Hotel), Syed Shah Razzak (Elite & Pradise Hotel), Ishaq Sharif (Parwaz Group), Syed Azmath Ullah Hussaini graced the function.
The participating teams: Kingdom Sports Academy Blue, Kingdom Sports Academy Green, Kingdom Sports Academy Red, Kingdom Sports Academy Yellow, Azizia Deccan, Azizia Deccan Royals, Azizia Deccan Avengers, Barkatiya XI, Hyderabad Royals, Zamil CC, Jeddah Kings, Hyderabad Warriors, Al-Fuzail, Friends Cricket Team, Bhatkal CC, Kingdom Cricket Club, Prime XI, IOE Cricketers, Azizia XI, United Brothers, Sun Risers Hyd, Yorkshire, Telangana Warriors, Spark XI, Jouf Jeddah Strikers, Deccan Chargers, Elite, Elevan Brothers, Super Chargers, Challengers Cricket Club, RC Mangalore, Nazar Guys, Pioneer, Khind, Gulbarga CC, Salama Falcon, Reliance, Jeddah Gladiator, Coastal Gladiator and ICC Royals.
Syed Sameer Ishaq, chairman and managing director, Dream India Group, has sent his best wishes to all the participating teams and the organizers.
The JPL committee is headed by Syed Hashmath Ullah Hussaini (JPL) president. The other members are Syed Mukarram Nazeer, vice president; Mir Meraj Ali, general secretary; Mohammad Amer, executive sectary; Aslam Ali Khan, events coordinator; Rahmath Hussain, executive member; Mohammed Minhaj, executive member; and Syed Ehsan, treasurer. Over 25 executive committee members and 25 officials (umpires and scorers) are working had to make this tournament a big success.
