JEDDAH — A top relationship expert and author of 17 books enthralled his Saudi fans on Wednesday at Sofitel Jeddah with some excellent tips to deepen the engagement and impact in business conversations and personal relationships.
Dr. John Gray, the author of bestseller ‘Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus», conducted two very interesting sessions on understanding the differences between men and women.
The celebrated American author has so far sold 50 million copies of his books in 50 languages.
The morning session titled ‘How to Get What You Want at Work», based on the book by the same title, analyzed the ways men and women misunderstood and misinterpreted each other in the workplace. During the session, Gray offered concrete pieces of advice to the participants on reducing unnecessary conflict and frustration at workplace.
The evening session was based on Gray›s book Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus, which is the New York Times› #1 best-selling book of the last decade.
Taking the stage in front of a big audience, Gray presented different scenarios from both women›s and men›s points of view.
He also gave advice on how to counteract differences in communication styles, emotional needs and behavior patterns.
Gray entertained the audience, cracking jokes and providing examples from his personal life to support the advice he gave on relationships.
At the end of the morning session, Gray spoke to Saudi Gazette and said his presentation in Saudi Arabia was all about maintaining relationships and health through hormones and behavior.
He noted knowing the difference between men and women can ‘deepen our understanding of our partners and relationship dynamics.»
He furthered said divorce rates have increased dramatically in the Kingdom.
Speaking about his first ever visit to Saudi Arabia, Gray said, ‘I heard the divorce rate in Saudi Arabia is very high and I am not here to solve this problem but at least I will try to enlighten men and women of how important is communication and letting them know that what stands between us is a lack of understanding of what our partners need.”
During his presentation, the American author used many examples of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him).
“The Prophet Muhammad was without doubt one of the best examples for mankind and wherever I go I show how a great communicator he was in dealing with his wives and relatives,”Gray said.
The one-day seminar was hosted and organized by Jeddah Chamber of Commerce with Madinah Institute for Leadership and Entrepreneurship.
