DHAHRAN — The Tamil Nadu Thowheed Jamaath (TNTJ) has successfully organized its 53rd Mega blood donation campaign at Central Tower Hospital in Dammam recently.

From early morning blood donors started gathering at the hospital premises. More than 120 volunteers comprising various nationalities that included Indians, Pakistanis, Sri Lankans and Egyptians registered themselves for the donation.

A total of 108 units of blood was collected at the camp. A large number of expatriates mostly from the South Indian State of Tamil Nadu and Sri Lanka pledged to donate on a regular basis.

TNTJ volunteers were helping the hospital staff in registration and coordination. A standard health screening procedure was done prior to taking blood. Each donor underwent tests for blood pressure; sugar and hemoglobin count before donation. The checks also included communicable diseases.

Organizers who owned vehicles, transported donors from various locations like Rahima, Sihat and Khalidiya to the blood donation camp. The campaign started at 8:30 in the morning and ended at 3:30 in the afternoon.

Dr. Abdullah Al-Rubaish, president of Dammam University, along with Dr. Ahmed Sayyah, director of laboratory medicine, supervised the campaign and thanked the TNTJ organizers for organizing such a kind and noble work on regular basis.

TNTJ claims that it conducts all such campaigns in accordance with the teaching of Holy Qur’an. “Surely, this will help in creating social harmony and eradicate hatred,” said Syed Ali, TNTJ head in Dammam.

He said so far TNTJ organization has conducted 52 such massive blood donation campaigns in Al Khobar, Dammam, Qatif and Jubail Hospitals. In addition TNTJ is also invited by various hospital authorities to donate blood on emergency needs and during the Haj.

TNTJ continues to be No. 1 organization in holding Blood Donation Camp in Tamil Nadu as well as in GCC countries. In India & Saudi Arabia, Health authorities have awarded a number of awards praising TNTJ’s Noble work.

TNTJ also regularly performs educational, humanitarian, and social services to serve the people.
