ABHA — The Asir Health Affairs has refuted claims that an expatriate doctor at one of the hospitals in the region was not licensed.

Saeed Al-Ahmari, deputy spokesman for Asir Health Affairs, said Dr. Khalid Al-Mardhi, a Sudanese national, holds a classification certificate issued by the Saudi Council for Health Specialties.

The certificate issued in 1431 AH classified him as a general practitioner, Al-Mardhi added.

He said the doctor was currently not practicing the profession as his employer, the Saudi German Hospital, is in the process correcting his employment status.
