JEDDAH — In compliance with an order by Makkah Emir Prince Khaled Al-Faisal, the police formed an investigative team to look into the harassment incident at Durrat Al-Arous resort north of Jeddah.

The emir issued the order after a viral video on social media showed a group of girls being harassed by men. The girls were shouting at the guys to leave them alone but the guys kept following them.

The harassment began at the resort’s shopping center. Things escalated once the girls stepped out of the shopping center.

Police found out the identity of the person who took the videos and posted them on Snapchat. He refused to respond to the media.

However, it is expected that the police may summon him soon to make sure the video was not doctored.

The investigation will include interrogating the security guards at the resort, identifying the girls and the guys and increasing security measures at the resort.
