ASIR — The Emir of Asir Prince Turki Bin Talal gifted the family of a deceased teacher a car on Friday to ease their distress.

The son of the deceased teacher said his mother died in a road accident in Mahayel Asir back in April.

“She was being transported from the school she worked in to her house when the bus toppled over and crashed. The paramedics rushed to the scene and reported that there was only one victim, who was transported to the hospital,” said the son.

He added that he went with his family to visit the victim thinking it was his mother. “The victim was not my mother. We asked the authorities about the whereabouts of my mother and they insisted that there were no other victims in the accident scene. After pressing them on this issue, they revisited the crashed vehicle that was being transported to the Traffic Department. The authorities found my mother’s body trapped inside the vehicle. No one noticed her. Five hours had already passed since the accident. She could have lived if they had saved her,” said the son.

He added that his mother was 48 years old and a mother of six boys and a daughter.

The Emir of Asir opened an investigation into the incident and visited the family of the deceased in person. He came to their home and gave them a car and promised to pay off all of her debts.
