The Ajyad branch municipality in Makkah has launched a massive campaign against foodstuff shops, restaurants and market places within its preparation plan for the month of Ramadan to ensure that there are no violations that might be hazardous to human or environmental health. Municipality Chairman, Abdullah Bin Khamis Al-Zaydi, said more than 100 old cooking utensils were confiscated and destroyed. He said the violators were fined and were asked to renew their cooking utensils, refrigerators and other equipment. He said the campaign also covered a number of barber shops where operational violations were detected. The chairman said the barber shops were fined and warned to correct their mistakes.
