You would never imagine, while walking on Rotterdam’s streets that this city had been completely bombed by the Germans during the World War II and around 24,000 buildings were destroyed.

This city that never sleeps has art pieces and statues everywhere that showcase a special story, including a destroyed city statue.

Rotterdam is one of the cities that tourists should discover by foot or bicycle, and stopping at small shops to eat sweets and dessert is a must.

Saudi Gazette is suggesting a day tour plan in Rotterdam to know more about this special city.


One of the fun activities that you can do in Rotterdam is to visit one of the parks, especially during weekend. You will find people dancing and singing, while groups of people can be seen playing sports, practicing yoga, or just relaxing.

Vroesenpark is one of the recommended squares to visit in this city where you can enjoy barbecuing. You can also find lots of space to chill alone or with friends.

Market Hall

Rotterdam has a variety of delicious food and fun markets. The Market Hall is one of the famous gathering spots, which was opened in 2014. Visitors can buy fruits, fish, cheese, and other food and can also savor snacks there.

The Cube Houses

It is located near the Market Hall. Architect Piet Blom designed it and these yellow innovative houses are a must see for all who visit the city. The concept focuses on the idea of living in an urban roof. You can enter one of these houses for a fee.


After a long walk in the city, it is suggested that families take a boat tour in the canal and watch the floating hotels and other attractions.

The Fish Market

The Fish Market is the name of one of the special seafood restaurants in Rotterdam. The staff is very friendly and the food is fresh and delicious. The dishes are whopping at reasonable prices.
