Paris — French TV host Philippe Gildas, whose real name was Philippe Leprêtre, died at the age of 82.

The journalist started his career in 1962 on the station RTL. Still in military service, the station asked him in 1963 to find a pseudonym. Since then he was known as Philippe Gildas. Six years later, he went to the ORTF, before joining TF1 then Antenne 2.

On the public service channel, he launched the game “The treasure hunt”, which was then led by Jean Lanzi and Didier Lecat. — Agencies
