NEW YORK — Prepare to feel very old, because iconic singer Britney Spears is celebrating the 20th anniversary of the release of ...Baby One More Time.
Her first album was released on Jan. 12, 1999 and gave us solid gems like the title single, '(You Drive Me) Crazy' and 'Born To Make You Happy'.
To mark this momentous milestone, Britney has shared an update on social media to reflect on the "journey of a lifetime".
"Can you believe that this album was released 20 years ago today?! I can’t," Britney wrote alongside a picture of the album's cover.
"It’s been the journey of a lifetime, but I’m grateful for every moment. Getting to know you all over the years has been such an incredible experience. Thank you for all your support."
Britney revealed last year that she always knew her debut single was going to be a hit, saying: "The whole song is about that stress that we all go through as teens. I knew it was a great song.
"It was different and I loved it, [but] I don't think you can anticipate how a song is going to be received."
Britney is currently taking a break from her work to focus on helping her father Jamie, who is recovering from a medical emergency. — Yahoo News
