Crown Prince’s directive for health center in name of Jeddah flood hero Farman Ali Khan

ISLAMABAD – Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman, deputy premier and minister of defense, has issued directives to establish a health center in the name of the Jeddah floods hero Farman Ali Khan in his hometown in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

The directive was issued during the Crown Prince’s visit to Pakistan that ended on Monday.

In the directive, the Crown Prince highlighted his personal attention and appreciation of Martyr Farman Khan’s family in recognition of Khan’s heroic act.

Farman Ali Khan became a hero in both Pakistan and Saudi Arabia after he saved 14 lives in Jeddah’s devastating floods in November 2009.

Khan jumped into the floodwater and managed to rescue 14 people but drowned as he attempted to save the 15thperson. He was posthumously awarded the King Abdulaziz Medal of the First Order by the Saudi government.
