RIYADH — Saudi Arabia on Friday strongly condemned the Israeli airstrike that targeted the vicinity of the presidential palace in Damascus, renewing its firm rejection of any violation of Syria’s sovereignty, security, and stability.
In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Kingdom called for an end to Israel’s ongoing violations of international law in Syria and the wider region.
It warned that continued extreme Israeli policies further escalate violence, extremism, and regional instability.
The Syrian presidency also condemned the strike, calling it a “dangerous escalation against state institutions and sovereignty,” and urged the international and Arab countries to support Syria in the face of what it described as aggressive violations of international law.
The Muslim World League denounced the airstrike and Israel’s “barbaric” approach in undermining stability in Syria and the region, reaffirming its solidarity with Syria and its people.
Gulf Cooperation Council Secretary-General Jassim Al-Budaiwi also condemned the attack, describing it as a serious breach that threatens regional peace and stability.
He emphasized that Israel’s actions reflect a policy of fueling conflict in the Middle East and reiterated the GCC’s rejection of all violations against Syria’s sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity.
