LOS ANGLES — Saudi supermodel Rawan Abdullah Abuzaid – commonly known as Model Roz- filed a Manhattan Supreme Court lawsuit and is seeking $5 million in damages, after she was allegedly bullied for refusing to denounce the Kingdom.

Abuzaid – who has more than 10 million followers – said that Danah Almayouf, who sought asylum in the US in 2012 and is now a citizen, claimed that the model moved to Los Angeles to escape female oppression in Saudi Arabia.

The model dismissed Almayouf’s claims and said that she had moved to the US to study interior design, adding that she owed her rising success to her friends and family back home.

The lawsuit claims that Almayouf continued to slander Abuzaid on social media, even accusing Abuzaid of not paying taxes.

According to the lawsuit, Almayouf urged several brands that work with Abuzaid to boycott the model, which resulted in several companies cutting ties with her.

Abuzaid is currently a Guess, Victoria’s Secret, and Swarovski representative. Al-Arabiya English
