RIYADH — The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA), headed by its president Abdulhadi Al-Mansouri, is participating in the fifth meeting of the presidents and directors of the civil aviation authorities in the Middle East. The three-day meeting at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in the capital city of Kuwait began Monday.
The meeting is set to discuss a number of items arising from the fourth meeting of the presidents and directors of the civil aviation authorities in the Middle East. This in addition to the cooperation between the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and international and regional organizations. The meeting will also discuss civil aviation efforts to protect the environment, in addition to the current opportunities and challenges for Middle Eastern airlines and other topics on the agenda.
The meeting will be addressing the developments related to civil aviation safety, regional safety indicators, its goals and their performance. The meeting will go through the outcome of the 17th meeting of the Middle East Air Navigation Planning and the implementation of air navigation for the Middle East region. Furthermore, it will go through the seventh meeting of the regional aviation safety group, and the achievements and challenges of air traffic management in the region.
