JEDDAH — Arkan Sport will be organizing Modon’s Sport Tournament for the 2nd year and this year expansion will cover 2nd Industrial City in Riyadh and 1st Industrial City in Jeddah in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The cricket league is one of the games that will be organized under the patronage of Modon’s 2nd Sport Tournament that kicked off in the 1st Industrial City Jeddah on Nov. 15.

The event titled as “Modon T10 Cricket Tournament” will be sponsored by The Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones “Modon” and organized by Arkan Sport Company. This was announced by Arkan Sport after finalizing modalities with Modon.

The cricketing event being under patronage of The Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones, as part of Modon’s Yearly Sports Tournament, is strictly for industries and companies working in the 1st industrial area of Jeddah. Each team will register a squad of 15 players, which must be verified by HR department of the company.

Arkan Sport has appointed Jeddah Cricket Association (JCA) to organize, supervise and manage the entire tournament. A team of professional umpires, scorers and other officials will be provided by JCA to manage the entire tournament.

Matches will be played at the Modon 1st Industrial City Ground in Jeddah on Fridays and Saturdays r and conclude with the final on Dec. 18. There are 12 participating teams divided into 3 Groups of 4 teams each, playing their respective group teams in a round robin league basis. Top 2 teams from each Group plus 2 wild card teams will qualify for knockout stage to decide the winner, runner-up and 3rd position.

A meeting of Modon 2nd Sports Tournament organizing committee officials was held with the participating teams captain, who were explained playing conditions and related was held by rules & Regulations.

Participating teams are AlMarai, AVK SVMC Company, Binzagr Foods, Binzagr Unilever, Consolidated Can Manufacturing Company, Indomie, Jotun Paints, MENABEV, Saudi Can Manufacturing Company, Saudi Air Conditioning Manufacturing Company (SAMCO), Saudi Refrigeration Manufacturing Company (SRMCO) and Zultec. — SG
