24-hour curfew comes into effect across Saudi Arabia

RIYADH — Talal Al-Shalhoub, spokesman of the Ministry of Interior, announced on Friday that the security authorities have started implementing the 24-hour curfew from 5 p.m. on Friday across all cities and regions in the Kingdom until May 27, 2020 (Wednesday).

Al-Shalhoub called on everyone to adhere to the curfew instructions and the measures of social distancing, including preventing gatherings of five or more people, according to the regulation on limiting gatherings.

"The security forces will follow up on this commitment in residential neighborhoods, resting sites, and other public areas, as well as in villages, and centers to control any violations and take appropriate measures against their perpetrators,” he said.

He pointed out to the numbers to receive emergency cases are (999) in all regions, and (911) in Makkah region, as well as to receive curfews violations.


Meanwhile, the Ministry of Commerce announced that restaurant will operate from six in the morning until 10 in the evening during the full lockdown period, providing their services through their own delivering vehicles or delivery applications.
