KUWAIT CITY — Kuwait on Friday registered 1,072 new coronavirus cases, bringing the total number of infections in the country, to 25,184, the state agency KUNA reported.

The ministry also announced nine more deaths, taking the total number of fatalities in the country to 194.

During a daily press briefing on the developments related to coronavirus in the country, the ministry’s spokesman said that most of the new cases were in contact with previously infected people, while some are being investigated for sources of infection.

There are 191 patients receiving intensive care treatment, according to the spokesman. He added that 65 people have been discharged from quarantine centers and will spend at least 14 days in home isolation.

Earlier in the day, ministry said that a total of 575 more patients have recovered from the deadly virus, taking the total number of recoveries in the country to 9,273.
