RIYADH —
The Ministry of Interior has announced precautionary measures and preventive protocols for several sectors to follow as the Kingdom moved closer to Phase 2 of the gradual relaxation of coronavirus lockdown rules.

The preventive protocols, prepared by the Ministry of Health, cover the period from May 31 to June 20.

The ministry said the protocols are provided for mosques; the public; petroleum, petrochemical and gas and other industries; malls and retail centers, home delivery service, among others, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) said in a report.

Appendix (1) clarifies the categories covered by the health controls for suspending attendance at workplaces during the period specified in the preventive protocols.

The ministry urged all citizens, expatriates and concerned authorities "to implement these procedures and abide by their provisions in order to preserve the safety of all".

Last week, the ministry approved the precautionary and preventive measures for the wholesales, retail, industry, and construction sectors.

The measures were adopted after they were prepared, planned and reviewed by a committee that included members from the ministries of energy, health, finance, human resources and social development, and industry and mineral resources.
