RIYADH — Yemen's Information Minister Muammar Al-Iryani expressed his deep appreciation of, and thanks to, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman, deputy premier and minister of defense, for their directives to organize the virtual Donors' Conference for Yemen 2020 next Tuesday in partnership with the United Nations.
In remarks to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), Al-Iryani said that the hosting of the conference is a reiteration of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s staunch support to Yemen. He noted that the conference would primarily discuss the scale of the humanitarian crisis in Yemen and the financing of humanitarian and relief operations in light of the risks and challenges following the outbreak of the coronavirus.
The Yemeni minister also stressed that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has been, and is still, the leading country in providing Yemen unlimited generous support in every way, by assisting with relief aid and also in the reconstruction of the war-torn nation. The Kingdom has also supported Yemen during the coronavirus ordeal.
Al-Iryani also strongly condemned Iran for its sabotage role in Yemen, stressing that the Iranian regime has always been providing his country with nothing but damage. Iran and its proxies in Yemen are experts in killing, destruction, smuggling weapons, using ballistic missiles, and planting land mines and explosive devices that kill Yemeni people every day. — SPA
