MUSCAT — Oman on Friday confirmed 770 new coronavirus cases, bringing the total number of COVID-19 infections in the Sultanate to 15,086, the country’s health ministry said in a statement carried by the state news agency ONA.

The ministry also reported five more virus-related in the Sultanate, taking the total number of fatalities in the country to 72.

Of the cases, there are 343 Omanis and 427 expatriates. There are 60 patients who are receiving treatment in intensive care units.

A total of 3,451 patients have so far recovered from the deadly virus, the ministry added.

The ministry said that it conducted additional 2,463 coronavirus tests over the past 24 hours.
