Kingdom condemns terror attack in Diyala Province

RIYADH — The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed Saudi Arabia’s utter condemnation and denunciation of the terrorist attack at Diyala province, north-eastern Iraq, which resulted in several deaths and injuries.

The Ministry affirmed its solidarity with the Republic of Iraq against all kind of violence, terrorism and extremism.

The Ministry also expressed its condolences and sympathy to the families of the victims, the government, and the Iraqi people, with wishes for a speedy recovery to the wounded.

Meanwhile, the General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) too strongly condemned the terrorist attack in Diyala Province. It too expressed its sincere condolences to the government and people of Iraq, wishing the injured a speedy recovery.

It also reiterated its support and solidarity with the Republic of Iraq in its war against violence, extremism and terrorism.

Earlier, the OIC strongly condemned the terrorist Houthi militia attack targeting innocent civilians in the cities of Najran and Khamis Mushayt with unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), in addition to launching a ballistic missile from Saada Governorate towards Najran.

The missile was intercepted by the Coalition forces, resulting in minor injuries among civilians due to the fall of the debris.

Secretary General Dr. Yousef Bin Ahmed Al-Othaimeen expressed his strong condemnation of the terrorist attack on the innocent civilians, holding the Houthi terrorist militia and those who are supplying them with money and weapons the full responsibility of these terrorist acts. — SPA
