RIYADH — The G20 Development Working Group met virtually on Wednesday to further discuss its 2020 priorities that are: Financing for sustainable development, quality infrastructure for regional connectivity, modernizing the accountability framework and Riyadh update on G20 contribution to 2030 agenda for sustainable development, the Saudi G20 Presidency said in a press release.

In addition, the group discussed the G20 Action Plan in response to COVID-19 in Africa and the least developed countries.

As a result of COVID-19 impact, the global economy is contracting, and the least developed countries that are vulnerable to severe social and economic distress are particularly impacted.

The G20 Action Plan in response to COVID-19 in Africa and the least developed countries lays out G20 commitments toward concrete collective actions to help Africa and the least developed countries meet the essential needs of the most vulnerable, control the pandemic and its impacts, and set the path for recovery.

The group strives to strengthen the G20 contribution to the 2030 agenda; give more visibility, credibility, and effectiveness of the G20 efforts; and uphold continuity and consistency in G20 actions.
