RIYADH — General Entertainment Authority (GEA) Chairman Turki Bin Abdulmohsen Al-Shiekh on Sunday announced the resumption of entertainment centers activities in the Kingdom.

The announcement followed the publication, on its accounts in the social media, of the authority's guide for the resumption of entertainment activities, stipulating the conditions of practicing the activities to achieve safety of visitors from arrival to departure, including movement among the venues, distancing and capacity of the place.

The GEA, in late June, unveiled a guide containing coronavirus protocols to ensure the health and safety of the public for resuming recreational activities. The guide outlines regulations, which amusement parks, recreational centers and event organizers must follow.

The regulations, which are in line with the campaign “We Return with Caution,” focus on health awareness, physical distancing, organizational and preventive dimensions.

The health awareness aspect includes the publication of messages calling on people not to attend any event if he or she has symptoms of coronavirus or was in contact with a confirmed case in the past two weeks.

It provides educational materials to all workers and visitors about procedures and instructions to be followed for visiting venues for recreational activities.

The procedures call for ensuring physical distancing by adjusting the crowd flow and seating arrangements to avoid any congestion while maintaining a distance of two meters between individuals.

The instructions also include the organizational aspect that requires an epidemiological investigation of contacts of attendees and organizers, pre-registration of data and contact numbers, commitment to using electronic means of reservation and purchase of tickets, training of employees prior to commencement of the events.

With regard to preventive measures, the protocols stipulate that the event sites must be sanitized and attendees to be given sanitizers at all entrances and exits. — SPA
